Gudju Gudju and Uncle Bumi (Peter Hyde) joins Boe on Let’s Talk this morning to yarn about the Frontier Wars – Lest We Forget 2021 gathering happening 24th of April 2021. Since 2016 Aboriginal people and Non – Aboriginal people in Cairns have been having this important gathering that involves a special corroborree of truth-telling, lament and remembrance. At this event, we will be remembering the first battles in the Gimuy area, such as those at Battle Camp/Smith Creek, along with all the other acts of war against the peoples of these lands that occurred in this place called Cairns – Gimuy.
