Madeleine Turner is the Aunty of a young Torres Strait Islander boy from Bamaga whose name is Charlie Gowa his a six-year-old boy, after waking up one morning too sick to eat breakfast his mother knew something was wrong so she took Bamaga Hospital for a checkup after six days of coming back and being told to go home and given Panadol and re-hydrating ice blocks Charlie deteriorated night after night.
Finally being admitted to Bamaga Hospital then being flown to Cairns and then to Brisbane for treatment. It was in Brisbane that his family made the heartbreaking decision to turn his life support off.
