Karen Dorante spoke with Darren Brady, Jared Hutchison and Elenn Mitchell who are Mentors and Participants of the Young Indigenous Leadership Program. The are taking part in the Leadership Program with 21 other countrymen from New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria, Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia, focused on walking the Kokoda Trek in Papua New Guinea. The process is broken up in 3 phases, a pre trek (which was held in Victoria earlier this month), the trek itself (Kokoda, Papua New Guinea), and then the post trek in Canberra. The program is cert II in Indigenous Leadership. Ages vary from 17 – 60 years of age.
