Listen in to this super special introduction to our brand new Tuesday program: “Let’s Talk – Black Power” with your host, Ruby Wharton. Each Tuesday, Ruby will be bringing the frontlines to the airwaves, sharing and amplifying the work of activists, organisers, artists and academics from all around the country, and honouring the legacy of independent Black media in the struggle for justice, land and liberation.

This week, we’re kicking off this new program with a special recording from “We Charge Genocide”: a webinar digging into the South African case against Israel in the International Court of Justice, and its implications for solidarity organising globally. The webinar was recorded right here at Triple A Murri Country last week, and it was co-presented by Justice for Palestine Magan-djin, Brisbane Free University, Radio Reversal 4zzz, & Let’s Talk – Black Power.

As you tune in, you’ll hear first from Ruby herself, grounding the discussion in the connections between colonialism globally and the persistence of Indigenous sovereignty and solidarity worldwide. Then you’ll hear from diaspora Palestinian scholar activist Dr. Jamal Nabulsi from Justice for Palestine Magan-djin who introduces and facilitates a conversation between Darumbal and South Sea Islander scholar and journalist (and former Let’s Talk host!) Dr. Amy McQuire, Palestinian writer and human rights lawyer Sara Saleh, and Palestinian lawyer and activist Ruba Rayan. All in all, a jam-packed conversation and critical introduction into the case before the ICJ at the moment, and the possibilities (and limitations) it presents for Indigenous liberation globally.
