Brade is a country duo comprising Bre Gerritsen and Jade Mellor. The two Brisbane teenagers first met eight years ago at a talent quest and, although they had never sung together, they decided to enter the duo section and won! Many talent quests later, and after graduating from both the junior and senior courses at the CMAA Academy of Country Music, they won the prestigious Queensland Champion of Champions and began singing together professionally. The girls had already toured the world, performing in Austria and China as members of the Cantabile Choir. Brade launched their self-titled EP at the Tamworth Festival in 2010 where they performed every day at the Best of The Bush Show as well as being special guests on the Bush Laureate Awards and the popular Buttercup Concert. Following their Tamworth success Bre and Jade went on to win the ‘Voice of Urban Country’ award at Caboolture Music Festival and were named as top five finalists at the Queensland Country Music Awards. Brade have a unique sound which is based on their guitar and mandolin playing and their original songs which have elements of country, folk and pop music. Although Brade learned their craft at an early age the girls say they are still developing their skills and working on their songwriting. Brade is building a reputation for bright entertaining performances at venues like Twin Towns RSL and the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
