Karen Dorante spoke with Brisbane-based Torres Strait Islander dance artist and motivational speaker, Marcus Pedro and Ella Bowie, a project officer with Queensland Health's Torres Strait and Northern Peninsula Area Health Service District. Marcus has teamed up with Queensland Health and Torres Strait Islander radio service, 4MW to tour "Dance Kombat" throughout Torres Strait Islander communities to encourage locals to embrace healthy and active lifestyles "Dance Kombat" is a dance fitness program which takes its inspiration from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dance moves, martial arts, boxing and more.
