VIEW ALL EPISODES

Tune in today as Rachael catches up with Wiradjuri, Scottish, & Czech person, and long term resident of Papua New Guinea, Anna Borzi to learn about the First Nations Writers Festival and the work they’re doing to amplify Indigenous writers across the Pacific. Anna tells us a bit about the origins of the First Nations Writers Festival, and what makes her passionate about building spaces for Indigenous writers to share their stories. She talks us through the ongoing struggle to keep the festival running, despite a lack of government support and funding. And she shares some of the highlights of this year’s festival, including the work of Joshua Torenn, one of the first Solomon Islands writers to be published in decades.
