On Let’s Talk this morning Boe speaks with Marni Tuala who is a proud Bundjalung and Wonnarua woman who grew up in Far Northern NSW. A mother of five jarjums, Marni changed career paths from Law to Midwifery in 2013. Without looking back on her career change Marni has been appointed  the New South Wales Director and Deputy President of (CATSINaM) Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses and Midwives. We talked about how there is only 200 Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander nurses and midwives nationally and the need for more. Manri mentioned her work supporting Aboriginal women to becoming Midwives.  We also talked about her journey birthing on country and how the CATSINaM conference is going.
