You might know Uncle Joe Geia’s Yil Lull, which means “to sing” in Kuku Yalanji language from up in North Queensland and it’s also known as the “unofficial Aboriginal Anthem”. Now Joe’s combined the Australian national anthem with Yil Lull to make an “Anthem Combined” – even better? A Brisbane primary school has been singing Joe’s songs in their assemblies to acknowledge and unite all in this country and will present it to him on the 26th of July! Follow the story here on the Murri Hour with host Lizzie Orley and Joe Geia’s yarn!
