Today is Friday the 23rd May which is the day we commemorate ‘Sorry’ Day live from Orleigh Park (West End, QLD) the site of Magandjin’s ‘Cranbrook’ Aboriginal Girl’s Home which enforced training in domesticated servitude. Any Aboriginal female child or adult from all over Queensland who were transitioning from one work place or another were forced to stay here. The conditions under the Matron at the time were so de-humanising that the Chief Protector of the Aborigines had the institution shut down. All that remains of this site are concrete stairs where Community, Paula and Tabatha are hearing the stories of the stolen generations.
