
After more than 9 weeks and 1000 submissions, the Queensland Commission of Inquiry into Child Safety is close to delivering its final report to the State government. Of those submissions, the peak body representing First Nations organisations supporting families, children and young people submitted a number submissions with solutions to address the cracks in the child safety system. Karen Dorante spoke to QATSICPP deputy CEO, Helena Wright, who spoke about how the system is failing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and what changes their memberships want to implement.
