
This week marks 40 years of Child Protection Week in Queensland. Co-founded in 1986 by journalist Kay McGrath OAM to create better outcomes for children in the state. Each year Child Protection Awards are given out to organisations, frontline services and others working to create better outcomes for children in the state. One of the recipient’s is the Solid Voices Youth Council set up by the Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Protection Peak so young Indigenous people can have a say.
