Today Karen Dorante spoke with a member of the 2011 NRL premiers, Manly prop George Rose. He's the grandson of one of George Rose of Walgett, one of the key figures involved in the Freedom Rides with Charles Perkins and uni students who campaigned across western NSW for equal treatment of Aboriginal people. His pop also was a vocal critic of the Walgett RSL which barred Aboriginal ex-servicemen, which eventually was removed.
