
The 4th National Indigenous Languages Survey (NILS 4) has revealed 177 languages are currently being spoken or used and 113 languages are being revived.
The survey is conducted by the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies. Karen Dorante spoke to Henry Leslie-O’Neill and Zoe Avery who are part of the NILS 4 team about the key findings of the survey and what the data is saying.
