The collapse of the controversial Youpla Funeral Fund has left 17,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people shattered and millions of dollars missing, as the company was sent into administration late last year, unbeknownst to its clients. Keelen Mailman is a Bidjara woman who has lost tens of thousands of dollars to the fund and is calling for the Federal Government to intervene, telling Lets Talk “who is going to pay for our funerals”.
