Let’s Talk…The Arts with Daniel Boyd & Rachael Sarra

This week on Let’s Talk…The Arts, Rachael catches up with multidisciplinary artist Daniel Boyd to talk about his first major solo exhibition in Meanjin/Brisbane: Rainbow Serpent (Version). Rainbow Serpent (Version) shows off the sheer expanse of Boyd’s creative practice: engaging with diverse questions and concerns, but anchored by a desire to resituate colonial history within an infinitely expansive universe.

The exhibition opened on the 9th September at the Institute of Modern Art in Fortitude Valley and will stay up until the 16 December, meaning that you have plenty of time to head over and see it in person. Don’t miss this essential and powerful conversation about the role of art in disrupting the colonial gaze and seeing these lands anew.

You can visit Dan’s current exhibition at the Institute of Modern Art until the 16th December 2023. We will be playing recordings from the public program on the show over the following weeks, and you can find all of the details of the show here: Daniel Boyd | Institute of Modern Art (ima.org.au)
