This week on Let’s Talk – Black Politics, Chelsea & David share recordings from the extraordinary Blackfella Palestinian Solidarity Symposium. This symposium was held in Magan-djin, so-called Brisbane, on Tuesday 7th November, 2023, at the State Library of Queensland. It was co-organised by the Australian Palestine Advocacy Network (APAN), Magan-djin Blackfulla Palestinian Solidarity, and Sisters Inside Qld.

This first episode begins with an introduction from Goenpul Elder and researcher Dr. Shane Coghill, and followed by short presentations from Darumbal and South Sea Islander scholar and journalist Amy McQuire, Palestinian writer, producer and film-maker Rihab Charida, and Gamilaraay and Kooma radio host, podcaster and community worker Boe Spearim. These are powerful and poignant conversations that remind us of the importance of Blackfella Palestinian solidarity – not just in this moment, but always. From the river to the sea, always was, always will be.

If you’d like to watch a video of the event, you can find the full recording hosted by the Institute for Collaborative Race Research here: Institute for Collaborative Race Research (icrr.com.au). You’ll also find the program for the event here, including details about the speakers, actions to take in support of Palestine, and how to keep up to date with the work happening here on the ground.
