This week on Let’s Talk – Black Power, special guest host Kevin Yow Yeh brings you a very special recording from the UQ Students for Palestine encampment at the University of Queensland, featuring Goenpul Elder & scholar, Dr. Shane Coghill and Palestinian student and activist, Malaak Seleem. Together, Uncle Shane & Malaak mark the 76th anniversary of the 1948 Nakba, which saw the mass expulsion of Palestinians from their homelands by zionist militias, and later by the Israeli Occupation Forces. They reflect on the deep and clear parallels between colonial invasion on this continent and in Palestine, and the relationships of solidarity, strength and trust that exist between Indigenous peoples’ everywhere, as they fight against the occupation and colonisation of their lands.
