Our Board

Wally Tallis

Chairperson

Wally has been a board member of BIMA for 4 years and from February 2024 was elected as Chair. Wally has over 30 years’ experience in First Nations Affairs across various State and Australian government agencies, specialising in social, economic, environmental, and cultural service delivery. Wally has been in SEQ since 1989 and is committed to having First Nations Multimedia agencies strong and viable to continue to promote, inform and celebrate what our culture has to offer. His cultural connection being a Torres Strait and South Sea Island man with extended family connection through the Birri Gubba people of North Queensland further contributes to his understanding and connection to ensure our culture stay strong.

Leanne Levinge

board member

Leanne Levinge is a Ngugi (Moreton Island) and Kombumerri (Gold Coast) descendant on her Dad’s side and non-Indigenous Australian on her mum’s side. She lives on Turrbal and Yugara/Yuggera Country in Meanjin (Brisbane) with her two sons. Leanne is a narrative therapist / counsellor, coach, facilitator, and small business owner (Big Hill & Oyster) with experience in a range of contexts (therapeutic settings, prisons, Aged Care, vocational education, government agencies and corporates). Before her current professional journey, Leanne spent 20 years in management and leadership roles in the higher education sector.

Amanda Boland

Company Secretary

Amanda Boland (she/her) is Triple A's company secretary. She provides independent advice to the Triple A Board as it governs the organisation. Amanda is the owner of Business Governance Solutions Pty Ltd, an independent advisory firm which works with organisations and peak bodies in the health sector, aged and disability care, youth and community services, the arts, and education. BGS supports the Uluru Statement From the Heart and works with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations towards self-determination.

Gregory 'Uncle Cheg' Egert

board member

Uncle Cheg (he/him) is an Aboriginal man from Goenpul, Yugara, and Kabi Kabi country with considerable experience in the education sector and strong engagement with several Indigenous Australian community organisations. Uncle Cheg was engaged as Elder-in-Residence for four years at QUT (Queensland University of Queensland) and during this time, he delivered several school engagements and provided cultural mentoring for students and staff. Now the Elder-in-Residence for the ARC, Centre of Excellence for Indigenous Futures at UQ. Uncle Cheg continues to work at the Murri School to shares his knowledge with our young students. Uncle Cheg provides cultural knowledge and histories to the wider community of Southeast Queensland.

Jolene Elliott

Board member

Jolene is a descendant of both the Martu and Yugunga-Nya people, Traditional Owners of land within the Eastern Murchison region of WA. With over 20 years of experience providing business services and taxation advise, Jolene isa Chartered Accountant and Founding Partner of Karlaya Accounting and Business Advisory. After working in various size accounting firms, including big four and mid-tier firms, Jolene wanted to build a flexible, female first firm that allowed her to pursue the career of her dreams on her own terms. Jolene has recently completed the MURRA Indigenous Business Program through Melbourne Business School and is currently enrolled in the Graduate Certificate of Indigenous Business Leadership through the University of Melbourne.

Bob Smith

CEO

Bob is a proud Gay Kamilaroi man, raised on Mununjali country. As the CEO, Bob’s role is to oversee Triple A’s operations, compliance and contributes to the shaping and achievement of Triple A’s vision and goals. Prior to joining Triple A, Bob served as CEO for Inala Wangarra - a community controlled and owned organisation with an ultimate focus on community development and social justice. He is experienced in the public sector, having spent over a decade developing and delivering initiatives across Queensland that targeted schools, Indigenous communities, and whole of government priorities. Bob’s passion for the Creative Arts has also led him to work with partners such as Bangarra Dance Theatre, Queensland Ballet, Aboriginal Centre of Performing Arts and The Commonwealth Games. Dedicated to fostering a more inclusive and diverse space that celebrates our unique Mob, Bob is keen to continue exploring ways we can be of service to the communities within our communities.

TRISHA COLLINS

Trisha Collins (she/her) is a proud woman. Born and raised in Tenant Creek, Trisha is the longest serving staff member here at Triple A and began her radio journey at the age of 22. She is head of corporate services and brings over 20 years of experience to her role.

RHEA STEPHENSON

HEAD OF EVENTS & DIGITAL

Rhea Stephenson (she/her) is a proud Aboriginal woman of the Nugi Nunukal and Mununjali clans of Southeast Queensland. Her role at Triple A is leading and delivering our events such as Brisbane NAIDOC Ball, Brisbane Blacks Live Music Festival and Golden Oldies, Rhea also leads our online digital team to create content from a First Nations perspective across Triple A online platforms. She has previously worked with Indigenous Business Australia within management with partnerships and business support programs for women in business and young people. She has over 10 years' experience working within the Film & Television industry as a Producer, creating broadcast content for SBS, ABC & NITV.

Anna Carlson

Producer

Anna Carlson (they/them/she/her) is a white settler and the current producer of Let’s Talk on Triple A Murri Country. Anna is a long-term radio producer (and now podcaster) with the Radio Reversal Collective (4zzz), as well as a political organiser, researcher, writer, and illustrator.

Clay Cassar-Daley

Music Director

Clay (he/him) is a proud Bundjalung and Gumbangirr man and the official music man here at Triple A. He is also one half of the Drive Show. With a decade of dedication to Triple A he is committed to sharing Indigenous music.

Darren Mees

ICT & Broadcast Engineer

Darren (he/him) oversees the ICT and Broadcast requirements of Triple A. As a broadcast engineer, Darren brings a wealth of technical expertise to the industry, specializing in both commercial and community broadcasting. Throughout his career, Darren has dedicated himself to mastering the technical intricacies of broadcasting, from equipment maintenance to signal processing. In addition to his professional pursuits, Darren is committed to giving back to the broadcasting community. Whether sharing his knowledge with aspiring engineers or collaborating with colleagues on projects, he values teamwork and mentorship as essential pillars of success in the industry.

Ingrid Havnen

Training Support Officer

Ingrid Havnen is of Western Arrernte decent born in Tennant Creek. She is the School Based Trainee Co-Ordinator who is responsible for the facilitation of accredited and non-accredited training at Triple A. The trainees come from diverse backgrounds, which can be challenging but they bring lots of light and laughter into our workplace. She enjoys helping the trainees transition from school to workplace environment.

Jayden Mailata

Audio Producer

Jayden (he/him) is an audio producer and co-host for Triple-A's Hip Hop hour "Mob Beats". Jayden started as a self-taught Hip-hop producer/beat maker in 2016 having produced songs for small local acts in Perth Western Australia. He then studied more in-depth through a DJ/Production school known as "LABSIX" in Perth Western Australia and later at the SAE Institute Brisbane.

Marc Cornaz

Audio Producer

Marc Cornaz is a Audio Producer, bringing over a decade of experience in live sound and audio production. Originally from New Zealand, Marc has contributed his expertise to some of the largest country music festivals in Australia. His deep passion for music and his spirited sense of humor drive his exceptional work in the industry. Outside of his role at the radio station, Marc is also a dedicated stand-up comedian, performing at various venues across Australia.

Nathan Talsma

Communications Officer

Nathan Talsma, (he/him) hailing from the vibrant Great Keppel Island (Wop-pa) is also known as "Nate the Plover Whisperer," on Triple A Murri Country Truckin' Hour with Marshall the million-dollar voice. Currently serving on our Communications Team, Nathan showcases his podcasting skills to help bring Triple A – Murri Country flagship program “Let’s Talk” online. His blend of Indigenous heritage and modern expertise is bundled with over a decade’s experience in the radio industry making him an invaluable asset to the team.

Nurdewi Djamal

Manager Digital

Nurdewi (she/her) aka Dewi Wilson is a Minangkabau woman from the Island of Sumatra in Indonesia. She is a creative content producer with a BA in Film and Screen production. Nurdewi has had short documentaries and works screened on SBS, NITV, and Australian film festivals. On review of one of her short films, she was invited to attend renowned documentary maker Werner Herzog’s Rogue film school in New Jersey.

Paul Watts

Senior Audio Producer

Paul (he/him) has been in the audio industry for 26 years with 20 of those specifically in Radio audio and 16 years at Triple A. Paul along with the Audio production team creates all elements of sound be that Promo, commercial, podcast and and all things imaging for both pre and post production.

Rhonda Yow Yeh

Receptionist

Working as Triple A’s receptionist, Rhonda Yow Yeh (she/her) occupies the front of the building welcoming guests, and directing the station’s visitors. With Aboriginal and South Sea Islander heritage on both sides, Rhonda grew up on the Northside of Brisbane as one of six. She is now a proud parent of two boys and grandmother of four. Working in administration for a number of years, she is always happy to have a chat with anyone, Rhonda fosters a strong sense of spirit for Triple A.

Siena Stubbs

Digital Content Creator

As a young Yolŋu woman, Siena Stubbs (she/her) grew in the community of Yirrkala surrounded by her culture. After graduating high school in 2019, Siena worked at The Mulka Project to further develop her skills as a Film Maker and Artist. Siena achieved a Bachelor of Fine Arts Film at the Queensland University of Technology. Graduating with distinction, Siena now works in the Triple A Digital team helping to produce content for Triple A’s online presence through graphic design, infographics, digital photography and content creation.
