LT - Black Culture with Cheryl Leavy

Cheryl Leavy, a proud Kooma Nguri author, has championed language revitalization and learning throughout her career. Her poem, Ngali-us two, about black queer love, won the Oodergeroo Poetry Prize in 2022.  Her debut children’s book, Yanga Mother, written in both Kooma and English, reflects her passion for making language accessible for all mob.
