Condoman Says
Brisbane Indigenous Media Association with 2 Spirits (QAHC) are delivering a radio project which gives cult figure Condoman a voice!
Through a series of radio skits and audio messages, Condoman Says seeks to raise awareness, increase knowledge and understanding in the prevention of sexually transmissible infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses (BBV) amongst First Nations people in Queensland.
Common STIs in First Nations communities include chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis. Unprotected sex is a major risk factor as is drug injecting.
Condoman Says will promote protective behaviours, vaccinations, promotion of relevant programs and services to prevent transmission e.g. syringe programs in a culturally-appropriate and respectful manner so as not to encourage stigma or discrimination of at-risk groups. Listen here to a radio interview with Michael Scott from 2Spirits on the launch of the radio project.
